Previs in Action: Bringing ONCOR’s PSA to Life
When it comes to educational storytelling, Previs plays a crucial role in crafting engaging and effective visuals. Working on ONCOR: Keep Away From Power Lines was an exciting challenge, particularly in designing a rounded, toy-like world that resonated with children.
Navigating a Unique Layout Challenge
Directed by Barrett Lewis, this ONCOR PSA was designed to educate kids (ages 4-11) about the dangers of downed power lines. The creative direction leaned into a playset-inspired world, filled with vinyl figures, toy trucks, and colorful environments.
One of the biggest challenges during Previs was working with a rounded set. The main action took place at the top of a spherical hill, where we flattened the ground for easier camera movement. However, shots on the steeper arc sections required precise adjustments—every camera move needed a slight arc motion to maintain the illusion of a natural playset world.

This project was an incredible exercise in blending technical precision with playful visuals, proving that even complex environments can be planned effectively through Previs.
