Previs for Game Cinematics: Valorant – The Games Begin

Previsualization (Previs) plays a crucial role in crafting high-energy, visually stunning game cinematics. As a CG Camera Operator, I’ve always admired the work of Cinematic Artists, who push the boundaries of dynamic camera movement in storytelling. That’s why it was an absolute honor to contribute to Valorant: The Games Begin, a cinematic that brings the intensity of one of the world’s top FPS games to life.

Fast-Paced Previs for a High-Impact Cinematic

When Brazen Animation invited me to collaborate on this project, I jumped at the opportunity. The biggest challenge? A tight turnaround time for Previs. In just 8 days and 98 man-hours, I was able to complete the entire Previs phase, ensuring the Animation team could begin their work ahead of schedule. By leveraging industry-standard Previs techniques, we optimized shot composition, camera movements, and scene staging to create a cinematic that seamlessly blends action and narrative.

Why Previs Matters in Game Cinematics

Previs isn’t just about planning shots—it’s about elevating the storytelling experience. For Valorant: The Games Begin, the use of Previs ensured that every camera move enhanced the energy and intensity of the cinematic. With the right Previs strategy, game studios can streamline production, reduce costly revisions, and create high-quality cinematics that captivate audiences.
